Graduates | About our programme

Our graduate programme is a two year, structured course providing learners with a six month business placement, rotations, supported career pathway, links to professional bodies, structured development and mentoring and an excellent benefits package.

It will provide recruits with a comprehensive understanding of a fast growing; civils, building, engineering, maintenance and design contractor. Experience of working across rail, environment, highways, energy and infrastructure and both public and private sector.

The aim is for graduates to progress to a range of roles within AmcoGiffen on successful completion of the programme.

An apprenticeship with AmcoGiffen is a great way to gain a professional qualification, earn money and get industry experience by learning from technical experts on exciting projects.

We offer a range of apprenticeships across various professional fields such as; construction, engineering, quantity surveying, and business, from level 3 to level 6 (degree level).

We partner with lots of colleges and universities across the UK, and have a dedicated AmcoGiffen Academy at Barnsley College that we’ve created specifically to train and develop talent in the construction and engineering sector.

We’re passionate about nurturing our talent and continuous professional development, and your career development will not end when your apprenticeship does! We’ll support your ongoing career aspirations and help you to gain relevant industry professional accreditations.

Employability Programmes

We’re always trying to develop opportunities that support the communities where we live and work.

Mining programme: We’re really proud of our partnership with ICL Boulby, providing trainee mining opportunities in Cleveland. The training and development programme will be based at ICL Boulby and delivered jointly by our expert teams. It’s designed to draw talent from a wide range of backgrounds into the modern mining industry. Trainees will receive practical training, on the job training and competence coaching. The aim is to create an extended rolling programme as more candidates pass through the training stages.

ICL Boulby is the only place in the world where Polyhalite mineral is mined. AmcoGiffen provides the specialist maintenance work that keeps the mine in operation.
