Equipment donation rewarded with charity contribution

Double donation delight

AmcoGiffen equipment donation rewarded with £500 gift for UK homeless charity.

Our electrical and plant team based in Basingstoke donated testing equipment to their local training centre, the Electrical Academy. It will be used at their new apprentice training hub.

The testing kits will provide valuable practical experience for trainees and electrical apprentices right the way through. From starting in the industry, throughout their training period and practical examinations to gaining qualified electrician status.

We have a long history partnering with the academy based in Maidstone. Our trainees and electricians use the skills training centres for technical updates to maintain accreditation.

The team at the Electrical Academy are so delighted with the donation that they returned the sentiment with a £500 cheque handed over by directors Mark Harding and Kevin Christian.

The £500 has been presented to Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity. Centrepoint aims to help vulnerable young people move on from homelessness and build a future. Our donation will go towards supporting a range of services and bed spaces.

David Brooks, Engineer Manager, AmcoGiffen, said; “Our equipment donation to the Electrical Academy was an acknowledgement of our long standing partnership. We never imagined that they would return the gesture but we’re delighted that they did. The £500 will help Centrepoint provide safe and warm spaces for young people. A valuable service needed now more than ever, in the run up to the second winter since the start of the pandemic.
